Welcome to the Punjab Liberation Society (PLS)
Standing for Sovereignty, Justice, and Human Rights from Aotearoa New Zealand
The Punjab Liberation Society is an independent, unincorporated society based in New Zealand, established as a resolute voice for the self-determination of Punjab and the global protection of Sikh human rights. Bound by the eternal principles of truth, justice, and freedom, we stand as a grassroots bulwark against oppression, dedicated to amplifying the struggle of the Sikh nation on the international stage.
Our mission is clear: to expose decades of systemic state violence, demand the immediate release of political prisoners, and advocate tirelessly for a sovereign future where the Sikh identity, faith, and people can thrive free from persecution.
Our Core Pillars of Action
Advocating for Punjab’s Sovereignty: We firmly believe that the ultimate preservation of Sikh identity, culture, and economic survival lies in the realization of political sovereignty for Punjab. We engage in peaceful, democratic advocacy to support the right to self-determination.
Justice for Bandi Singhs (Political Prisoners): For decades, numerous Sikh political prisoners—Bandi Singhs—have remained languishing in prisons long after completing their formal judicial sentences. The PLS actively organizes global awareness campaigns and non-binding referendums to demand their immediate, unconditional release.
Global Sikh Rights Advocacy: From the shores of New Zealand to the halls of international human rights organizations, we serve as a vigilant watchdog, documenting and challenging policies that target, marginalize, or criminalize the Sikh diaspora and youth.
Exposing Decades of State-Sponsored Atrocities
The Punjab Liberation Society stands in absolute condemnation of the continuous, systemic campaigns orchestrated by the Indian state against the Sikh population since 1947. We refuse to let the world forget the planned assaults, human rights violations, and institutionalized terror engineered to suppress the Sikh consciousness:
The Four Planned Assaults: We hold the state accountable for the military invasions and campaigns aimed at crushing the Sikh spirit, including Operation Blue Star (1984)—the sacrilegious assault on the Sri Harmandir Sahib—and the subsequent brutal counter-insurgency operations of Operation Black Thunder I and II.
Systemic State Terror: We fiercely condemn the decades of extrajudicial killings, staged "fake encounters," widespread custodial torture, and the weaponization of sexual violence and rapes used by state machinery to terrorize Sikh families.
The War on Sikh Youth: We speak out against the ongoing deployment of fabricated charges, draconian laws, and fake cases designed to target, arrest, and silence politically conscious Sikh youth.
Sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji: We demand accountability for the deeply painful, orchestrated acts of sacrilege against our living Guru, Dhan Dhan Shree Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, actions designed to inflict deep emotional and spiritual trauma on the global Sikh community.
The Ongoing Genocide: We identify these collective, state-led actions not as isolated incidents, but as a continuous, identical genocide aimed at eroding the demographic, political, and spiritual foundations of the Sikh homeland.
Defending Against Transnational Repression
In the modern era, the threat has expanded beyond the borders of Punjab. The Punjab Liberation Society actively exposes and condemns the Indian state's escalating campaigns of transnational repression.
Through the deployment of paid proxies, foreign interference, and intelligence operations, the state has actively sought to intimidate, surveil, and assassinate Sikh activists and dissidents globally. We stand firmly against these lawless, extrajudicial killings around the world, working alongside domestic and international security frameworks to protect the safety and freedom of speech of the diaspora.
Join the Stand for Freedom
The Punjab Liberation Society invites all who value human rights, indigenous self-determination, and historical truth to stand with us. Based in Aotearoa New Zealand, we remain an unyielding voice for the voiceless, working toward a future of accountability, liberation, and lasting justice for Punjab.

Our mission for a sovereign future
Our mission is clear: to expose decades of systemic state violence, demand the immediate release of political prisoners, and advocate tirelessly for a sovereign future where the Sikh identity, faith, and people can thrive free from persecution.

Advocating for Punjab’s sovereignty: We firmly believe that the ultimate preservation of Sikh identity, culture, and economic survival lies in the realisation of political sovereignty.
Join our united front for Khalistan
We appeal to individuals who are truly dedicated to the peaceful Khalistan movement and support the solidarity of our Bandi Singhs and our sovereign, independent Sikh state of Khalistan to join our volunteer team. Our dedication and unity will soon bring weekly events to local Gurudwara Sahibs across New Zealand.
