The 1984 Sikh genocide: state terror and total impunity
From 31 October to 4 November 1984, Indian butcher state orchestrated an aggressive assault across 18 states and over 100 cities. Falsely labelled as spontaneous riots, this organized Genocide systematically targeted, terr*rized, and displaced an entire Sikh community. Four decades on, Today we stand in New Zealand to break the silence and demand justice.

Direct state orchestration and complicity
The sheer speed and scale of the 1984 massacres demonstrate meticulous planning rather than random mob violence. Mobs were systematically armed with official government documents, including voter lists, municipal directories, and school records, to pinpoint Sikh residences and businesses with lethal precision.

Unchecked violence and human destruction
Over 30,000 Sikhs were brutally killed, subjected to heinous torture, and burnt alive with kerosene and tires. Horrific acts of systemic s*xual viol*nce were committed against Sikh women, whilst over 300,000 people were displaced, giving rise to long-standing settlements like the Widow Colony.

Demand international accountability in Aotearoa
Because the Indian legal apparatus continues to shield perpetrators through sabotaged inquiries and institutional cover-ups, international intervention is essential. We call upon the Parliament of Aotearoa New Zealand to formally recognize the 1984 atrocities as state-sponsored genocide and support independent judicial mechanisms.
